Today's VARTA AG, based in Ellwangen (Baden-Württemberg), combines the Consumer Batteries, Micro Batteries, Lithium-Ion Small Cells, Lithium-Ion Battery Packs and Energy Storage Systems divisions under one roof.

As a European technology leader, the company stands for outstanding innovative strength and many years of expertise in battery research and production. The main shareholders are Montana Tech Components AG and Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche Aktiengesellschaft. The VARTA automotive battery division, on the other hand, belongs to Clarios LLC (USA), which is regarded as the world's leading supplier of low-voltage batteries and solutions.
